What is Studio J?

A collaborative collective of passionate theatre creators focused on high-impact, low-requirement productions.

What does Studio J do? Whatever we want to! There is no set definition of what a Studio J show is. Since each show will be created by the people performing it we will be able to play to our strengths.
Short form improv? Sure!
Sketch comedy? Sure!
Fully staged productions of Moliere classics? Probably not, but…..
Basically whatever skills you have as a theatre creator we want to see!

Where do we perform? Wherever we want! While we will have a sort of “home base” at Joliet Bicentennial Park Theatre, we will also be looking at performing at local bars/restaurants, banquet halls, basically anywhere we can.

We are looking to cast 6-12 performers, ages 18 and up, who will be members of the company for a full year, however that year long commitment does not mean we will be taking all your time, we will design our shows to be flexible enough to rotate through the cast.
